BowAuthority’s Detailed Review:

Power

The velocity of this crossbow is quite minimal – it shoots at only 235 fps to deliver slightly less than 50 FPKE. This means that it can mostly take effective shots from point-blank range and is limited to taking down antelopes, deer and smaller prey. There is no guarantee that larger game will be secured. However, the decreased power means that the crossbow is easier to handle,  making it a great choice for newbies and people with smaller frames.

User Comfort

The manual on this crossbow is extremely detailed and thoroughly covers every step of the assembly procedure. The assembly itself isn’t a complex procedure and shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes.

The Inferno Fury has limbs made of fiberglass, which makes them very light yet very durable. They also help bring the total weight of the bow down to slightly less than 5 lbs. This relatively low weight not only makes it easy to handle, but also helps to ensure that there you won’t experience arm fatigue, a major cause for inaccuracy. The Arrow Precision Inferno Fury has a feel comparable to that of a rifle and its rear stock and safety switch are designed with ambidextrous features, making the weapon easy to use regardless of your hand preference and orientation.

The rear stock is designed to fit perfectly onto your shoulder area without exerting much pressure. This shoulder support serves to channel the recoil energy with ease when you are taking shots, allowing for great comfort. The comfort is also enhanced by the shoulder pads that come in the package. The pads themselves are extremely lightweight and can be easily added to the bow without worrying about any extra weight.

The four arrows provided with the package are quite low in quality and when you take close range shots they easily splinter. It would therefore be a great idea to buy good quality arrows at the time of purchase. Ensure that the arrows you buy weigh more than 400 grains as these would be better in maintaining accuracy and holding under pressure. More details are included in our recommended addon section.

The draw weight for the Inferno Fury is 175 lbs. and even though some find it relatively easy to manually cock, using the include rope-cocking device will cut this weight by half and make the work much easier. The Inferno Fury has an easy draw and efficient cocking, comparable to that of higher-end bows that are usually more expensive.

Its camouflage design on the crossbow helps you to remain unnoticed during hunting. It makes the bow perfect for hunters who like to hunt from ground blinds. Another plus is that the camouflage design gives it a rather sleek appeal and makes it seem classy.

The Inferno Fury is one of the smallest crossbows in the market: only 31” in length. Even though the trigger pressure feels rather light, it is generally responsive. This convenient length combined with the low weight make this crossbow a popular favorite for young archers in training.

All in all, the comfort features in this design have been given top priority and few models in the market are this easy to use. Learning the art of target shooting or hunting small game with the Fury is bound to be a delightful experience and it prepares you rather well for a lifetime of hunting using more advanced crossbows in future.

Noise Suppression

Even though recurve crossbows are normally loud, the Inferno Fury is a lot quieter than most of its higher priced counterparts. The slight noise it makes when fired might still startle certain prey, allowing them to escape before this relatively slow crossbow delivers the shot home. As such, it would be a good idea to invest in dampeners as these will both reduce the sound made and the level of vibration, making it easier for you to take accurate shots.

Quality of Optics

This weapon comes with lightweight sight that uses batteries and has three red dot beams to enable you to line up shots and take them as accurately as possible. It also helps you trace the arrows after an expedition so you will not have to keep going back for more. The sight comes with its own mount that makes it easy to use. When you need to make adjustments it provides a stable surface on which to operate.

The scope sights pretty easily but will not hold zero for very long. You therefore need to be prepared to make adjustments from time to time when you notice that the sighting is a bit off. Keep a screw driver or coin handy for this exercise as you will not be able to do it by hand.

This sight is a rather basic provision that will not do much for you if you love to hunt before or after sunrise, when most animals are relaxed. It also does not help when the weather is misty because visibility will be poor and the beams of light are bound to be untraceable.

Considering the price of the crossbow, the low quality of this sight is expected and might do for target practice and very basic hunting. However, you should consider investing in a proper multi-reticle scope that will never let you down regardless of the time of day. It will greatly help you when it comes time to go hunting.

Safety

Like most other models the Fury includes an anti-dry fire mechanism to reduce the probability of accidental firing when the device is not cocked. It has a thumb guard and it’s inherently easy grasp feature on its design reduce the chances of accidents.

Durability

The combination of fiberglass and aluminum for its build not only ensures its lightweight but also makes it a reasonably durable crossbow. The string that comes with the bowstring is expected to last up to 500 shots if it is properly waxed on a regular basis.

The one year manufacturer’s warranty is pretty short but considering the price and the fact that it is an entry level bow, once you master the art of whitetail hunting you might as well invest in a more advanced model.

Summary

The Arrow Precision Inferno Fury is admittedly the best entry level crossbow for a beginner working within a limited budget. Its light weight and compact design, the convenient length, and the level of comfort it offers to a hunter are all extremely handy provisions for a newbie. It also makes a great alternative for a seasoned hunter when he wants to use something light for a small scale expedition. It is the perfect training tool for anyone who really wants to get into crossbow hunting and will give you the opportunity to acquire experience. For such a low price no other crossbow comes close 🙂
